Four issues each year
The journal is published quarterly, with four issues per year. Special issues may be published as approved by the Editorial Board.

The APC applies after final acceptance. Editorial decisions remain independent of APC payment.

Prepare your manuscript for JESS
Use this checklist alongside the requirements for your article type before uploading your manuscript.
Complete manuscript package
Prepare the complete manuscript and all supporting material appropriate to the article type. Include accurate author names, affiliations, references, figures, tables and required declarations.
Originality & research integrity
Submitted work should be original, properly referenced and supported by appropriate ethical, disclosure and research-integrity statements.
Author information
Check that every listed author has approved the manuscript and agrees with the submitted authorship, affiliations and contribution information.
Figures, tables & references
Review all figures, tables, captions, citations and references for accuracy, consistency and correct placement before submission.
Ethics, consent & privacy
Confirm that applicable ethical approvals, patient or participant consent and privacy requirements have been addressed, particularly for clinical material and images.
Declarations
Complete relevant conflict-of-interest, funding, acknowledgements and other disclosure information required for your submission.
